Lauren Murchison earned a B.S. degree in Psychology from Wofford College and an M.Ed. in Community Counseling from Clemson University. She has spent the last six years working with families and adolescents with high-risk behavioral needs. Lauren’s primary focus and passion is providing children, families, and adults the skills necessary for healthy functioning.
When working with clients, she approaches therapy with a systems outlook. This therapeutic process involves consultations with the client, parents, family members, school professionals, medical professionals, and other identified supports. By doing so, a thorough and comprehensive assessment can be made regarding one’s strengths and needs, clinical goals, and current level of daily functioning. Additionally, by incorporating multiple systems into therapeutic services, it allows for an enhanced ability for that individual or family to achieve success outside of the office setting and into their daily life.
Lauren’s area of expertise includes trauma, depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, ODD, healthy parenting, behavioral difficulties, and life adjustments. She has been trained in using evidence based practices of Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Multi Systemic Therapy (MST), Family Systems, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). By incorporating evidence based practices into the therapeutic setting, the efficacy of the individual or family counseling is enhanced, thus promoting positive long-term outcomes to ensure healthy daily functioning for all clients.
